Travel Zeylan is a company based in Sri Lanka:

We work without international intermediaries or branches. Therefore we do not have an international bank account. Payments are currently only possible to our company account in Sri Lanka.

In order to make payment for your travel service as transparent and secure as possible for you, we would like to inform you about our payment options below.

International money transfer options

In Sri Lanka, some methods of international money transfer common in western countries are not available or involve high fees, such as payment by credit card.

In order to keep the costs for our customers as low as possible, we therefore recommend the secure money transfer with the established companies PayHere, Wise, Western Union, or bank transfer to our bank account in Sri Lanka. Of course, you can also choose another provider for international money transfers.

International money transfer costs

We show all prices for our services on the website in EURO. The costs for the money transfer via the link of the Sri Lankan provider PayHere are included in the travel price. If you choose another provider of international money transactions, you will have to bear the costs for this.

Exchange rates

On the offer you can see the price for your Sri Lanka round trip in EURO and in Sri Lanka Rupees (LRK). The exchange rate for calculating your travel price from LKR in euros is based on the current official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka  . It is determined on the day the offer is prepared and applies to all subsequent transactions in connection with your trip.

That is how it goes

When transferring money internationally, the amount to be transferred must be converted from your local currency – usually euros – into LKR. This happens at the time of the transfer by the provider you are using or PayHere. Travel Zeylan has no influence on the amount of the exchange rate set by the financial service provider you have chosen. The rupee amount specified in the offer is the target amount and will remain unchanged. The fees and exchange rates used differ depending on the provider and are added to the travel price you have to pay.

PayHere

PayHere is Sri Lanka’s first and only central bank approved internet payment service. PayHere accepts online payments through multiple payment methods such as credit / debit cards, mobile wallets, and internet banking systems. If you choose to pay with PayHere, Travel Zeylan will send you a link with all the necessary billing information. Click on this and you are directly in the payment process.

Wise

Wise (formerly Transfer Wise) is an online payment service regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. The company offers a safe, fast, and inexpensive method of transferring money internationally. A flat fee of 1% of the amount to be transferred is charged for money transfers. Losses due to currency fluctuations are largely excluded thanks to the transparent transfer system.

If you would like to pay for your Sri Lanka round trip via Wise, please create a transfer order with a fixed amount in the target currency (LKR) so that we receive the amount invoiced for the trip without deduction of fees or exchange rate fluctuations. You can find the instructions for this on the Wise website in the Support Center under “Create transfer order”.

Caution!

Depending on the amount to be transferred, it changes which provider carries out the money transfer most cheaply. It is worth comparing the various providers.

Please also note that the amount of the transfer is limited by the various companies. If this limit is exceeded by the travel price, the payment process must be carried out in several partial transactions.

It can sometimes take a few days from the instruction of an amount by the sender to the receipt of the sum on the recipient’s account. Please take this into account with regard to the payment times we have set.
